Tharu Village Tour in Chitwan

In the past, Chitwan was not only known for wildlife but also known for the ethnic group called Tharu people. They are believed to live in this Terai region since Lord Buddha’s time.  They are well known for their resistance to Malaria. Traditionally they are farmers and practice their own unique tribal culture. Tharu houses are made of mud and cow’s dung plastered over wood and reed frames. Their culture is still strong in Terai. Damfu dance is celebrating on the occasions of Holy festivals, which is longest and biggest festivals among tharu people. It is also called colourful festival in Nepal. In this festival, all the tharu people gathered sing a song, dancing, drinking alcohols and enjoying the moments.

Peacock dance, the show of the culture program. The tharu people live always close to the jungle and have encounter with snakes but the peacock help them by eating the snakes. Tharu people worship peacock as a friend. This dance also make memorable for the tourist.

Jeep Safari in Chitwan
