Annapurna Region Trekking

Annapurna region lies toward the north of Central Nepal. Annapurna region is best described as the most happening incentive trekking destination of Nepal. Annapurna Circuit Trek has been proved as a highly praised and spectacular trekking route in the Annapurna region since it opened to foreign trekkers in 1977. Annapurna region is well known for the most dramatic natural scenery, deep valleys, gorge, high mountain passes, and sub-tropical to alpine vegetation, Buddhist monasteries, Muktinath Temple, ancient villages, ethnic people culture and their lifestyle. Annapurna region consists of Annapurna peaks, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, II, III & IV, Kali Gandaki River and several climbing peaks. The most prominent ethnic groups of people are Gurung, Thakali and Managis. Animals are found here Pika, blue sheep and Himalayan Thar.and vegetation ranges from tropical species to temperate forest of oak, beech and rhododendron. Mustang or Lo Manthang, the desert plateau located in the upper valley of the river Kali Gandaki, and to the north of the main Himalayan range also falls in Annapurna region.The popular trekking routes of this region are Jomsom Muktinath trek, Annapurna Circuit trek and Annapurna Base Camp trek, Siklis trekking , Lamjung trek , Dhaulagiri, Upper Mustang and around Pokhara valley trek. The best time to visit this region for trekking and mountaineering is during spring and autumn.Possible to do short trekking in winter and summer.
